By way of an introduction...

Let me introduce you to Viola Marie. She also goes by Marlene, and she has many last names. She has suffered unspeakable things in her life and also perpetuated them.

She's an orphan, a foster teen, she lived though the Great Depression in a thriving city. She was born French Canadian, but came to live her life in the United States by way of New York, settling in Detroit and later choosing California as her home. She lived and taught in Mexico for a while.

She has a traveler's soul. She is my great grandmother.

I have begun a journey into her life both real and fictional. Who she was and who she may have been. The Woman of many Names.
